Registration is $295 for MISBO members ($395 for non-members) until May 17, 2017. After May 17, 2017, registration will be $375 for MISBO members ($475 for non-members). The Monday only registration is $225 for MISBO members ($275 for non-members).


To reserve a room at the Hotel Indigo Atlanta Airport – College Park, please click here. The discounted room rate of $119 per night (plus tax) includes guest room internet, breakfast, and parking. This rate will be honored for 3 days before and after the event. This special discounted rate is available until May 17, 2017. Please note that MISBO is not using a housing bureau - in order to make hotel reservations you will need to use the phone number or direct link provided.


The hotel provides a 24-hour complimentary airport shuttle, which picks up at the airport on the :00 and :30 of every hour at Zone 1. After 11 PM please call the hotel to request a pickup (404-767-8881). A shuttle from the hotel to the airport can be arranged individually on site. Parking at the Hotel Indigo is complimentary and parking will be available at Woodward Academy. For sessions on Monday and Tuesday, a bus will transport guests from the Hotel Indigo to Woodward Academy and back.

Marc Brackett, Ph.D., is Director of the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence and a Senior Research Scientist in Psychology at Yale University. Dr. Brackett is the author and co-author of more than 100 scholarly publications as well as the co-developer of RULER, an evidence-based approach to social and emotional learning which fosters emotional intelligence skills in kindergarten to high school students as well as school leaders, teachers, staff, and families. Dr. Brackett’s grant-funded research focuses on the role of emotions in learning, decision making, relationship quality, and mental health; the measurement of emotional intelligence; and experiments to demonstrate how emotional intelligence training enhances student and educator effectiveness, decreases bullying, and improves school climate. Dr. Brackett is a recipient of numerous awards and he serves on a wide range of research advisory boards. For the last three years he has been a consultant to Facebook, working on a variety of projects including inspirED, an open source resource center designed in collaboration with teenagers to help build more positive school climates. Dr. Brackett regularly consults with schools and corporations around the world and his research has been featured in the New York Times, Time Magazine, and on National Public Radio. He also holds a 5th degree black belt in Hapkido, a Korean martial art.


MISBO is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. State boards of accountancy have final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit. Complaints regarding registered sponsors may be submitted to the National Registry of CPE Sponsors through its website: www.learningmarket.org.

Cancellation Policy

The cancellation deadline for the MISBO Human Resources Intensive is May 17, 2017. Before that date, refunds will be given less a $50 processing fee. After that date no refunds will be given, but replacement registrants are welcomed. Cancellations and replacement registrants should be submitted in writing to cherylgoode@misbo.com.

Media Release
